Mr. Truong Tan Sang has called on enterprises from Japan to invest in Vietnam


Party Politburo member Truong Tan Sang has called on enterprises from Japan’s Kansai region to invest more in Vietnam, especially in science-technology.

During his receptions of leaders of the Kansai Economic Federation, the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry and discussions with leaders of Kansai region’s economic groups on June 4, Sang pledged favourable conditions for Kansai businesses to involve in projects in Vietnam.

Any obstacles will be removed so that Kansai’s enterprises can play an important role in development Vietnam-Japan bilateral trade ties, said Sang, who is also Permanent member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee.

Earlier, on June 3, Sang received leaders of prefectures in Kansai region and Osaka and Sakai cities.

Sang informed guests of the results of his talks with Prime Minister Naoto Kan, leaders of bicameral parliament and leaders of political parties, in which both sides committed to continue working to boost their “strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia.” In the spirit, the two sides agreed to make 2013 the “Vietnam-Japan Friendship Year” to mark the 40 th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

Sang said he hoped the authorities and socio-economic organisations in Kansai would contribute their ideas to the success of the Vietnam-Japan friendship year.

On the occasion, Sang also expressed his deep sympathy over the Japanese people’s losses caused by the twin disaster, saying he believed that Japan will soon overcome the current difficulties.

Vietnam will do its best to contribute to Japan’s post-disaster reconstruction, he affirmed.

Leaders of Kansai region’s prefectures and economic organizations thanked Vietnam for its timely assistance spiritually and physically.

They said Japan highly values Vietnam’s dynamism in economic development and expects to boost investment into the country and further strengthen bilateral cooperation, especially in economy, culture, tourism and agriculture.
